The Register is operated by ACS. Its purpose is to provide a platform where individuals can:
- Register themselves as carers
- Search for carers within their local area
2. Nature of the Service
The ACS Connect Register is solely a directory and search platform.
The Register is intended only to facilitate connections between independent carers and individuals seeking care. If you would like management services from ACS please contact ACS directly through their website.
When selecting the ‘Direct Employment’ Option, ACS:
- Does not act as an agency or intermediary between client and carer
- Does not arrange or manage care services
- Does not participate in agreements between carers and clients
3. No Vetting or Verification
The Connect Register does not:
- Vet, screen, or interview carers on the register
- Verify qualifications, experience, or references
- Carry out DBS (criminal record) checks
- Monitor ongoing conduct or performance
All information provided by carers and clients is self-declared.
Users are fully responsible for:
- Carrying out their own checks and due diligence
- Verifying identity, qualifications, and suitability
- Making informed decisions before entering into any arrangement
4. No Employment Relationship
Use of the Register does not create:
- An employment relationship between ACS and any carer
- An agency relationship between ACS and any user
- Any contractual obligation between ACS and users regarding care provision
Any agreement made is strictly between the carer and the client.
5. User Responsibilities
Carers agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Only offer services they are qualified and legally permitted to provide
- Maintain appropriate insurance and certifications where required
Clients agree to:
- Conduct appropriate checks before engaging a carer
- Ensure any arrangement complies with relevant laws (e.g. employment, tax, safeguarding)
6. Pricing, Payments, and Subscriptions
The following fees apply for use of the ACS Register:
Carers
- £10 registration fee
- £10 per month to keep profile active
All payments are strictly non-refundable.
Subscription and Renewal
- Monthly fees are automatically renewed on a rolling monthly basis
- By registering, users authorise ACS to take recurring payments where applicable
- It is the user’s responsibility to ensure payment details are up to date
Cancellation
- Users may cancel their subscription at any time
- Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period
- No partial refunds or credits will be issued for unused time
Refund Policy
All payments are strictly non-refundable, regardless of whether a user successfully connects with or secures a match with another user.
ACS reserves the right to amend pricing at any time. Users will be notified of any changes where applicable.
7. Inactive Carer Profiles
If a carer has not logged into their profile for a period of 2 months, their profile may no longer be displayed in the list of available carers.
However, subscriptions will continue to renew, and payments may still be taken unless the carer cancels their subscription.
Carers are responsible for:
- Logging in regularly to keep their profile active
- Cancelling their subscription if they no longer wish to be listed
8. Limitation of Liability
ACS accepts no responsibility or liability for:
- The actions, conduct, or behaviour of carers or clients
- The accuracy of information provided by users
- Any agreements, disputes, or issues arising between users
- Any loss, damage, injury, or harm resulting from use of the Register
Use of the Register is entirely at your own risk.
9. Safeguarding and Safety
ACS strongly recommends that users:
- Carry out DBS checks where appropriate
- Request references and proof of qualifications
- Meet in a safe environment before agreeing to services
- Follow safeguarding best practices at all times
ACS is not responsible for safeguarding arrangements between users.
10. Removal of Listings
ACS reserves the right to:
- Remove or suspend any profile at its discretion
- Remove content that is misleading, inappropriate, or unlawful
This does not imply endorsement or verification of any remaining listings.
11. Data Protection
Personal data submitted to the Register will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the ACS Privacy Policy.
Users are responsible for ensuring any information they share is appropriate and lawful.
12. Changes to Terms
ACS may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of the Register constitutes acceptance of any changes.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
